On Saturday, August 27, 2005, Saint John's first Dragon Boat
Festival will take place on the Kennebecasis River in front of
the Renforth Wharf in Rothesay. The course will cover 200
meters and the emphasis is on fun and friendly competition.
Along with some good spirited rivalries, the day will include
traditional Dragon Boat Ceremonies, live entertainment, games,
food, children's activities, and lots to see and do for
participants and spectators alike. The festival will run from
8:00am until
5:00pm and each team will participate in a minimum of two
heats.
