大家好.大家都知道我是谁吧. 在这里我想说一点今天发生的事情.虽然看起来象是一个小的事情. 但是什么事情都可以变大,或者小的让人忽略.2006年3月30号.就是我今天发这个贴的日子.我在学校的TIM HORTON’S 买东西.但是遭遇了一点很让人不舒服的事情.先不说那里的东西是不是很适合中国人或者说好吃不好吃.就说他们的服务态度，我觉得某些服务生的态度极其恶劣.今天就让我碰到了.那个穿黑色衣服的MANAGER..(就是一个很年轻的女孩.老外)对我非常没有耐心,并且在为我服务的时候在我面前把要给我装食物的袋子扔到了地上,并且很气愤的说 不知道我在说些什么.虽然我很气愤但还是忍住了.我不想在公共场所破坏中国人的形象.事后我去了INTERNATIONAL STUDENT OFFICE说明了事情,并且也得到了帮助.学校的TIM HORTON’S是属于学校食堂的.只是从TIM买了LICENCE在学校经营.我现在就是希望她(那个粗鲁的女人)公开向我道歉,也可以说是给所有以前受到过她的气的学生道歉,或者请求他的经理将她开除. 现在INTERNATIONAL OFFICE的对此事情的FORMAL LETTER 已经拟好. 希望你们能支持我.如果在下周这件事情被忽略的话.我准备去TIM HORTON’S进行抗议.或者听听大家的意见.但是我不希望任何武力和暴力的建议.因为这是我的强项.之所以我想以和平的方式解决.就是希望能在外国人的眼里把中国人的形象和威信再次提高.所以希望大家对我支持.以下是INTERNATIONAL STUDENT OFFICE 的FORMAL LETTER.

RE: Service at Tim Horton’s

My name is Boon Kek and I am sorry to be informing you of an unfortunate incident which happened on the campus Tim Horton’s. The following incident was brought to my attention by the students involved.

On 30th March 2006 at around 1.30pm, two foreign students went over to the Tim Horton’s to get lunch. They had ordered the sandwich deal and the server asked which donut they wanted with their meal. The students then wondered if the donuts on the bottom rack were included in the deal, and after a couple of questions, the server chuck the paper bag on the counter and claimed ‘I don’t know/understand what you are saying’. After that, the server walked away, ignoring the students who had just ordered their meal. The students would have been left standing if not for another member of the staff who came to finish the order.

Tim Horton’s is a household name in Canada and has no doubt been a successful addition to the campus and it is unfortunate that such an incident is to occur. I do not know if the above mention incident is an isolated case or there have been previous cases but this is a multicultural campus and it would not reflect well on anybody should future incidents happen.

I would appreciate it if you bring the matter up to the staff and remind them to be patient with our students who are trying their best to communicate in a language which is not their own. If you would like us (International Office) to have an information session to increase cultural awareness, it would not be a problem.
