To All Business Students...a few reminders:

精选回复

1. Fall and Winter Registration

All new and returning students should now be registered or waitlisted for ALL of their fall AND winter courses. If you have not done so already, please do so IMMEDIATELY. This is the only way we can tell if we need more sections of courses to meet students?needs. Students who procrastinate and try to register late will NOT receive priority treatment even if it means delaying your graduation. Therefore it is imperative that you register or waitlist required courses NOW!

2. Degree Audits

If you are planning to graduate in December 2006 or May 2007, the Faculty of Business will be accepting degree audits from July 1st- July 15th. To have your degree verified please submit the following to Oland Hall 245:
1) permission and request form
2) unofficial transcript
3) completed audit form or flowchart
4) List of courses you are planning to take, if they are not showing on your transcript
Permission and request forms, audit forms and flowcharts are available on our advising website (www.unbsj.ca/business/students/advising) and outside Oland Hall 245.
Your audit results will be based on the transcript that you submit. Please note that if you make any course changes after you submit your audit, you will be responsible to ensure that you still meet the requirements.

3. Waitlists and Prerequisites

We are now working on waitlists for the upcoming year, and will continue throughout the summer. Some students have been asking why they cannot add a course that shows seats available. In the new waitlist system a course is closed once the first name appears on the waitlist. Therefore, even if some registered students drop the course, it will remain closed to new registrants. Also, when we 揻lag?students to be added to a course from the waitlist, it does not happen until about 10pm each evening, so what appears to be available space, may already be committed to other students on the waitlist. So if you want to be considered for admission to a full course, you MUST place your name on the waitlist.

Admission to a course from the waitlist is on a priority basis. If after looking at your academic record, it is determined that your progress will not be hampered by your waiting until next term to take this course, you will not be added to a FULL course. This is when you will receive an email saying that you should make alternate course selections. This does not mean that you do not stand a chance of being added later if seats become available (and if you will have the required prerequisites). Your name remains on the waitlist until you remove it or are added to the course. If seats become available (ie the course enrolment drops below its cap), we will continue to add qualified students from the waitlist until the start of classes each term. However, if you want to guarantee your course enrolment now, you should make alternate course selections.

Please DO NOT waitlist courses for which you will not have the required prerequisites by the time the course starts. It wastes very much time if we have to constantly review transcripts of students who do not qualify for a course they have waitlisted. If you get into all the courses you want for a term, PLEASE REMOVE YOURSELF FROM THE WAITLISTS OF OTHER COURSES! Again, this slows down the process of adding students if we have to go back and forth with emails only to find you no longer want a course for which you are waitlisted.

Your co-operation in these matters will be very much appreciated.
