My name is Patrick Beamish and I am running for President of your Student Council. I am a 4th year Political Science Student and I have been a member of many groups on Campus. I have been a varsity volleyball player for the last three years and a active member of athletics on campus. I have been a writer for the Baron and a volunteer for many events on campus. I have also served on the SRC as the Company Chair which means that I organize the agenda and run the SRC meetings.

anyway, what you can do for us, Patrick Beamish ?

To respond to your first question I took a year of sciences before I transfered to Arts for the last three years. I will graduate next year with a BA in Political Science. I only have four courses left so if I become president I plan to take 2 courses each symester.
As far as your second question, no I do not speak chinese. I work with Louisa(candidate for VP Finance) in the CIC and I am friends with Li Song(our VP Internal) , who told me that I should post on this site since many students read the information. I then asked someone if the would help me navigate the site and they were kind enough to do so.
As far as what I can do for the students of UNBSJ, I have many things planned. With groups such as CSSA I would like to see the SRC work harder to promote the cultural events that CSSA puts on. I was fortunate enough to hear the rehersal fo the music event earlier this symester and I feel that if the SRC helped promote the event more students would have attended.
Also since many CSSA members live off campus I would like to work with the VP External) on a college bus pass. The idea is that the pass would be valid from september to April at a discounted rate.
