Education Commission Recommends Changes To UNBSJ

FREDERICTON, N.B.- New Brunswick could become Canada's first province with a completely integrated post secondary education system

The Post Secondary Education Commission has released it's final report.

The report brings with it recommendations for change to many institutions in the province, the biggest perhaps to U.N.B.S.J. The Commission is recommending turning the Saint John Campus and New Brunswick Community College in Saint John to a polytechnic school which would offer some first and second year university programs.

The Commission says college programs in health sciences combined with the newly announced satellite medical school in Saint John would create a centre of excellence in health.

Other changes would see the UNB Fredericton campus and Universite de Moncton focus on research and offer undergrad and graduate degrees with St. Thomas in Fredericton and Mount Allison in Sackville continuing to focus on undergrads

what in hell the so called "education commission" is?
