请问有人回国的时候顺便换过护照吗？

换了新的之后，旧护照上回加拿大的小签还有效吗？

武汉市出入境管理处的答案是，在旧护照上的小签要被跟护照一起剪去一个角。加拿大和美国签证在剪角过后就失效了。但是，我发信问了加拿大使馆的人，他们说只要新旧两本护照带着一起，就没问题。

你在国内换护照的时候，叮嘱一下出入境管理处的人。让他们只剪备注页的角，不要剪签证页的角。然后，核对新护照上是不是写了你曾经拥有过一本护照和旧护照的号码。这样两本一起用就可以回来了。

You have 2 choices:

1- You can appear at the Canadian port of entry with both a valid passport and a valid Canadian visa. If you have renewed your passport since your visa was issued you must carry both the passports with you when your travel; the passport with the valid visa and the new passport.

2- You may apply for a replacement visa at the Beijing Office. If you choose to do so please submit the following:

- The passport containing the valid Canadian Visa;
- Proof of payment for a replacement document: Certification and Replacement of Immigration Document $30 Canadian or/ 210 RMB. See: [url]http://geo.international.gc.ca/asia/china/immigration/beijing/application-fees-en.asp;[/url]
- A letter explaining why you are applying for a replacement visa, containing your name, date of birth and clear contact details (telephone, email, and address in Chinese characters);

We endeavour to process visa applications submit in person in this category within five to eight working days. In all cases an application will be delayed if the Visa Office has to take extra steps to assess your case. Both the applicant and the invitor should make sure that the information and documents that are requested in the application kit are complete prior to the submission of an application. Processing times at the Beijing Office may vary due to the level of applications. Our office does not offer an express service.

If your circumstances have changed since your first application was approved please include this information by completing and submitting new forms and documents when you submit your application.

OK , I see.
So for Choice #1, "renewed your passport", did they mean getting a new passport? coz the don't do the renewal anymore, right?
