One-way traffic at Rockwood Park

Construction for the Rockwood Park Phase 1 development project will begin Monday April 6th at Lily Lake and the Mount Pleasant Area.

A one way traffic system will be implemented from Lily Lake Drive through to the main parking area at Fisher Lakes. All vehicles will only be permitted to enter the park at Lily Lake and exit at Hawthorne St. Extension. Two-way traffic will continue between Hawthorne St. Extension and the Fisher Lake parking lot.

Businesses in Rockwood Park will remain open however, there will be no parking along the Pavilion. Visitors must use the parking areas before the entrance to Lily Lake, the lot behind interpretation Centre or the Fisher Lake parking lot.

In order to accommodate park users and businesses, all roadway entrance / access gates in Rockwood will remain 24 hours a day. Barricades will be installed at key points along the roadways, specifically near the Rockwood Stables. Saint John Police will patrol the park at night.

Phase One of the park project will see the entrance and road way of the recently renovated Lily Lake Pavilion completely rebuilt. As well a boardwalk will be installed on the lake side of the pavilion and proper drainage and storm water treatment will be installed under the road.

Construction is expected to be completed July 10, 2009. We thank the public for their patience while we work to improve Rockwood Park.
