NB Power is seeking a senior level Accountant to provide specialized accounting expertise in a complex accounting environment, which includes accurate financial and management accounting for the NB Power Group of Companies. In this challenging atmosphere the incumbent will be responsible in ensuring that the right financial information is delivered to the right people at the right time to enable more effective business decisions. In addition (s)he will play an important role in ensuring the proper standards and controls are in place in accordance with NB Power’s policies and procedures, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. As a problem solver that enjoys a challenge, the scope of this role will offer a myriad of opportunity to showcase your accounting talent.

You demonstrate accountability, attention to detail while also appreciating the broader business context, and strong communication skills.

As a successful candidate you possess a professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, or CGA) with a minimum of 5 years progressive accounting work experience, with a minimum of 3 years post designation. This experience would include accounting for such things as derivatives, hedge transactions, financial instruments, pensions, asset retirement, and consolidation; or in financial management accounting, auditing, reporting and analysis.

The annual salary range for this position is [B]$70,477 to $88,096[/B]. An eligibility list generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies within a period of up to 12 months.
