Gas prices expected to increase

[SIZE="3"]New Brunswick's gas prices are expected to increase for the second straight week when they are adjusted at midnight.

When the provincial Energy and Utilities Board makes its weekly adjustment at midnight, the maximum retail price of gasoline is expected to increase by approximately two cents per litre.

Last week, regular gasoline jumped up almost two cents to [B][COLOR="Red"]95.13 cents [/COLOR][/B]per litre, while mid-grade increased to [B][COLOR="red"]98.52 [/COLOR][/B]and premium jumped to [B][COLOR="red"]101.91 cents[/COLOR][/B] per litre.

Thus far in 2009, gas prices have decreased or remained the same 26 times and have increased 26 times. The net change has been a price increase of over 30 cents per litre, as on the first day of the year the maximum retail price was 65.95 cents per litre. The highest pump price of the year was 103.68 cents per litre, which was seen in mid-June.[/SIZE]
