Volunteer Tax Clinic for Newcomers

 

SJMNRC, in  partnership with CRA’s Community Volunteer Income Tax Program, will provide a FREE income tax clinic for newcomers in greater SJ.

 

Where:

165 Union St., 4th floor (SJMNRC offices)

When:

Every Wednesday & Friday (starting April 4th)

Time:

9:30 am to 3:30 pm   (NOT on April 18th)

 

Without Appointment, Walk-ins are welcome. Please bring all necessary documents, such as SIN #, Id card, 2012 NOA, medical receipts, T4 pay slips, T2202 Tuition, monthly bus passes, etc, and banking information if you want to set up a direct deposit w/ CRA.

 

VOLUNTEERS:

Do NOT serve individuals that exceed the suggested income.

Do NOT prepare complex returns, such as returns for individuals who: have self-employment income; have business or rental income and expenses; have capital gains or losses; have employment expenses;  file for bankruptcy; or deceased in the year.

Are you eligible for help?

To find out if you are eligible for help, use the income levels shown in the table called "Maximum income levels". For each additional dependant you have, add $2,500 to the family income. You should not have interest income of more than $1,000.

Community organizations have the flexibility to adjust or set eligibility criteria for tax filers based on the local economic environment, the population they serve, and their own capacity.

Eligible taxpayers normally served by the CVITP may include:

  • aboriginal peoples;
  • social assistance recipients;
  • newcomers to Canada;
  • seniors; and
  • students.

Volunteers do not prepare complex returns, such as returns for individuals who:

  • have self-employment income;
  • have business or rental income and expenses;
  • have capital gains or losses;
  • have employment expenses;
  • file for bankruptcy; or
  • deceased in the year.

圣约翰多元文化中心与CRA合作,从4月4号开始,在每周三和周五9:30-3:30为符合要求的个人或家庭提供免费的个人所得税的申报服务。4月9号和11号,有可以说中文的志愿者。

 

不需要提前预约

 

请携带需要的文件和身份证明 如:社保卡,护照,加拿大驾照,医疗卡,还有相关联的单据T4, T5, T2202, 等等

 

符合免费申报的家庭要求如下:

 

单人家庭2013年收入不能高于3万加币

双人家庭(夫妻)2013家庭总收入不能高于4万加币

单亲带一个未成年的孩子2013年收入不能高于3.5万加币
